ENTRIES OPEN
The 2026 WineGB Awards are now open for entries. This year the awards have expanded with new categories that celebrate more of this growing sector.
Alongside the usual awards that shine a light on the quality and diversity of our members’ wines the Storytelling Awards – Innovative Label Design and Small and Large Cellar Door – celebrate the people and work that bring those wines to life for consumers.

This year’s AWARD categories

WINE Awards
SPARKLING
- Best Aged / Prestige
- Best Cuvée
- Best Non-Vintage / Multi-Vintage
- Best Blanc de Blancs
- Best Blanc de Noirs
- Best Sparkling Rosé
- Best Innovative Sparkling
The highest scoring producer in these categories will be awarded the Best Overall Sparkling trophy.
STILL
- Best Chardonnay
- Best Pinot Noir
- Best Still White (not Chardonnay)
- Best Still Red (not Pinot Noir)
- Best Still Rosé
- Best Innovative Still
The highest scoring producer in these categories will be awarded the Best Overall Still trophy.
Winemakers
- Best SWGB producer
- Best Contract Winery
- Best Newcomber
There will also be trophies awarded for Best Regional Winemakers from the East, Midlands & North, Thames and Chilterns, South East, Wales, West and Wessex regions.
The Supreme Champion trophy will be awarded to the highest scoring producer across the competition.

Labelling Awards
The Innovative Label Design category seeks to highlight the creativity that goes into stand-out labelling and how it aligns with the producer brand story and reinforces the message that this is a modern, innovative sector.
Producers are invited to submit the front-and-back / wrap-around label for consideration and also a bottle shot to bring the label to life.
For the first time we will have a panel of external judges including photographers and designers, who will whittle the choice down to then share for the public’s vote through our socials.
Judges will considering the following:
- Visual Impact & Shelf Presence
- Brand Alignment & Storytelling
- Clarity & Information
- Creativity & Originality
- Production Quality & Sustainability

Tourism Awards
Celebrating the best of UK Wine Tourism, the Cellar Door categories will benchmark excellence in visitor experience at member vineyards and wineries. The award will be split into two categories:
- Small Cellar Door – up to 9,999 visitors per year
- Large Cellar Door – 10,000 or more visitors per year
Entries will be judged by a new panel of expert judges from the worlds of hospitality and tourism, who will be considering innovation and excellence in the following areas:
- Service
- Venue
- Experiential Promotion
- Community Engagement
- Accessibility & Sustainability

Photography Competition
For the first time, the free-to-enter WineGB Photography Competition will be brought into the series with a formal judging panel, which will be formed of a mix of WineGB team, photography professionals and industry leaders. Finalists selected by this panel will be taken to a public vote with the winner announced at the WineGB Awards ceremony on 16th July.
