Founded in 1926, Plumpton College offers a wide selection of programmes in land-based subjects to over 3000 students a year, and is the UK's international centre for wine education, training and research. In association with the Royal Agricultural University, the wine division offers graduate and Masters degrees in wine business and production to around 150 students. It also delivers industry training all over the UK through its WineSkills scheme: Plumpton has been a key factor in the successful development of the English and Welsh wine industry. The College manages a commercial vineyard that produces award-winning wine, and participates in research projects with universities in France, Germany, Italy, Romania and Australia.
