English sparkling wine took centre-stage at King Charles’ first State Banquet at Buckingham Place this week, in celebration of visiting South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa. Ridgeview Blanc de Blancs 2016 was served as the reception wine alongside a menu showcasing the best of British produce, a great testament to the international appeal of English sparkling wine and the growth of the industry which is now held in global acclaim.

English sparkling wines are now a ‘must have’ at these prestigious state events which is definitely something to celebrate”.
Guests at the banquet, which included the Queen Consort Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, members of the government and other figures connected with South Africa all had the chance to enjoy a glass of Ridgeview after it was selected by the government household specialist tasting panel. This is the fourth time Ridgeview’s sparkling wines have been served at a Royal State Banquets including in the past to USA President Obama.
