WineGB’s 31 Days of Sustainability: 5 ways to get involved this October

October is Sustainability Month at WineGB, a time to celebrate progress, share knowledge, and empower our members to take meaningful action for the planet. Here’s how to get involved:

1. Join our RVF webinar

Join us on Monday 6th October for a deep dive into regenerative viticulture with the Regenerative Viticulture Foundation team. This webinar will explore what regenerative farming really means, how vineyards can get involved, and why it’s a powerful tool for restoring soil health, increasing biodiversity, and fighting climate change. Whether you’re curious or committed, this session will leave you inspired and informed.

Whether you’re a vineyard owner, winemaker, marketer, or enthusiast, there’s something for you in this month-long campaign.

2. Read the Sustainable Report

Wine GB’s Sustainable Report will be packed with data, stories, and updates of the scheme from 2025 as well as what’s to come in 2026. Expect key performance numbers and a spotlight on new members joining the scheme. It’s a snapshot of where we are, and where we’re headed.

3. Download our Sustainability toolkits

This year, we’re re-releasing our series of sustainability focused toolkits supporting sustainable action in vineyards and wineries:

  • In honour of World Mental Health Day on 10th October we’re re-releasing our Safeguarding Toolkit. These resources are designed to support wellbeing, safety, and inclusivity across the sector, because sustainability isn’t just environmental, it’s human too.
  • Our Hiring Toolkit, offers best practices for inclusive, values-driven recruitment. Whether you’re expanding your team or refining your hiring process, this toolkit is your go-to guide.
  • Packaging plays a vital role in reducing waste and carbon emissions, and our Sustainable Packaging Toolkit helps producers make informed, eco-conscious choices without compromising quality or brand identity.

4. Sign up to our Farm Carbon Footprint webinar

On Wednesday 23rd October, we’re hosting a webinar with the Farm Carbon Toolkit team. This session will walk members through the WineGB Carbon Calculator, explaining how to use it effectively and why carbon tracking is essential for long-term sustainability. Learn how to measure, manage, and reduce your footprint, and make data-driven decisions for your vineyard and winery.

Sustainability Month isn’t just a campaign, it’s an ongoing commitment. It’s about equipping our members with the tools, knowledge, and community support to lead the way in responsible wine production. Every toolkit re-release, every webinar, every story shared is a step toward a more resilient and conscious future.

We invite you to take part, ask questions, and share your own stories. Together, we can make sustainability second nature, one vine, one bottle, one action at a time.

5. Share your sustainability efforts with us on social media

Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing SWGB member stories on social media to inspire every corner of the UK wine industry to become more environmentally and socially responsible. We want to hear from you too about what sustainable practices you have adopted, so please tag us on social media and use the hashtags #31daysofsustainability and #winegbsustainabilitymonth, or drop our Sustainability Executive a note: Emma@winegb.co.uk.
