English Wine Week – WineGB On the Road: at Hotel du Vin, Brighton
Last night, WineGB’s Kez Shears (Events Apprentice) and Emma Rix (Sustainability and Creative Manager) headed to an exciting English Wine Week celebration: the launch of the Henners Courtyard at Hotel du Vin, Brighton.
The courtyard buzzed with energy. The space was filled with a vibrant mix of familiar industry faces and newcomers from the local trade and wine community. A great reminder of just how much momentum English wine continues to build.
Despite the sweltering heat, Hotel du Vin’s enviable proximity to the sea offered a welcome coastal breeze that kept things just cool enough to enjoy a glass (or two).

The evening wasn’t just about the wine, but was also a celebration of local flavours too. Everyone enjoyed open fired scallops, fresh oysters, classic fish and chips, and an array of delish canapés – intentional pairing of regional seafood with local English wine.
What made the evening truly special was seeing English wine front and centre at such a prominent UK hotel group. It feels like a milestone that speaks volumes about how far the industry has come. Even better, many guests were trying English wine for the very first time.
A huge congratulations to Henners on this exciting new chapter and thank you for having us. We can’t wait to see the courtyard become a go‑to spot for locals and visitors alike.
