Hattingley Valley Wines
Simon Robinson, Hattingley’s founder, had always wanted to make something that was quintessentially British. When he heard a radio programme in 2000 on the rapidly developing English wine scene his Hattingley adventure began. With family encouragement, he decided to turn over 25 acres of chalky, south sloping fields to vineyards in pursuit of his dream.
Simon also recognised the need for an expert winemaker and discovered Emma Rice. She had been among the first to obtain a BSc in Viticulture and Oenology from Plumpton College and then honed her wine-making skills in Australian and Californian vineyards. As the vines grew successfully with Emma’s expert knowledge, Hattingley Valley became an eco-friendly, state-of-the-art winery. Today, the winery is now one of the largest in Britain with a 500 tonne capacity and exports its wines all around the world.
Hattingley were also proud to announce their partnership with British Airways First Class cabins in their centenary year.
