People Support Hub

Wine For All

Welcome to the WineGB’s People Support Hub, a dedicated resource designed to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion within the wine industry.

These resources are designed to assist you personally, help you support colleagues and friends, and provide valuable insights on how to enable a supportive and inclusive team environment. It’s our signpost to the considerable number of bodies who have been working in this field so you can identify the best advice for you from the experts in there field. We provide pointers to a number of bodies involved in alcohol, hospitality, agriculture and diversity to support you.

If you are looking for guidance on workplace challenges, educational opportunities, or wanting to understand legal considerations, the WineGB People Support Hub is here to empower you and enhance our collective workplace culture.

How to use the hub

Understanding the diverse challenges faced by individuals and organisations, we have divided the hub into 10 key sections:

foster a supportive workplace

Our resources are designed to help you implement key policies, provide education, and promote well-being across your workplace. Whether you’re navigating diversity and inclusion initiatives, risk assessments, or mental health support, our toolkits are here to guide you every step of the way. By integrating these practices, you’ll not only safeguard your employees but also enhance their engagement, morale, and productivity. Supporting your people matters:

  • Boost Wellbeing and Morale: employees who feel supported are more engaged and committed to their work, reducing turnover and absenteeism.
  • Drive Inclusivity and Diversity: equitable practices create a workplace where diverse voices are heard, respected, and valued, driving innovation and strengthening your team.
  • A workforce should be reflective of your customer base. If you want the widest number of people to sell to, they are more attracted to businesses where they see themselves represented.
  • Enhance Social Sustainability: beyond profit and the planet, supporting people is the third pillar of sustainability. A focus on fairness, safety, and development ensures your business thrives in an ever-evolving industry.

find support for yourself when you need it most

Everyone faces difficult times, and it is crucial to know where to turn when you need help. Whether you’re struggling with burnout, stress, abuse, financial difficulties, mental health concerns, disability, discrimination, or language barriers, our toolkit connects you with trusted organisations, charities, and professionals who can provide the support you need.

Your wellbeing matters, and taking the step to seek help is the first move towards healing and regaining control. We want to empower you to find the support you need, to inform your employer on how to help you, and to make your workplace a safe and inclusive environment.

It’s just as important to recognise when a friend, colleague, or loved one might need help. Supporting each other during challenging times creates a culture of care and solidarity. If you’re worried about someone facing personal or professional struggles, do not hesitate to reach out. Our resources provide clear pathways to support, whether it is offering mental health guidance, addressing discrimination, or simply starting a conversation. Together, we can build a community where everyone feels valued, safe, and supported.
