Education

400+ people have trained with us to enhance their tourism offer during 2024 and 2025. Our training programmes were delivered through face-to-face sessions across our regions and at The Vineyard & Winery Show. It included:

  • Placemaking within the vineyard to act as a draw to the local area. We hosted our Partner Frank Knight as part of our 2024 regional roadshow.
  • To attract international visitors with partnered with VisitEngland. They created the day-long course ‘Taking England’s Wine Tourism to the World’, based on Wine Australia’s exceptional tourism training. It supports members to craft an effective strategy to position themselves on the world’s wine tourism stage.

“Thoroughly informative course delivered by Scott and Lisa.  We took a lot away from the training, and learned the importance of releasing events early for the international visitors. We are updating our fliers and website with maps eg. proximity to London, what else is in the area etc”

Widely awarded for their excellence, nine thriving wineries now welcome visitors for wine tours and experiences as part of the Sussex Modern group. There are opportunities to see how the wine is made and to enjoy both still and sparkling varieties.
