English Wine Week

Our annual campaign runs in June each year. Did you spot it?

The campaign is to encourage you to make the switch and drink English wine. Visit a vineyard as part of a day out, celebrate a special occasion with a local wine, pair English wine with your Friday fish and chips. Create new traditions with English wine.

New Competitions – 2025

For the trade – The trade competition centred on finding 10 English Wine Ambassadors from among the on- and off-trade and we received over 50 nominations. That really is a sign of faith and support. The 10 successful candidates secured an invitation to this year’s WineGB National Trade and Press Tasting on 8 September and a bottle of English sparkling in a presentation box.

For consumers – The public competition asked you to say how many vineyards there are in the UK (over 1,000!). The lucky winner from the over 1,000 entrants won the ultimate English wine weekend for two at THE PIG Hotel in the South Downs complete with a wine pairing experience and a hamper of English wines to enjoy at home. The stay included a behind-the-scenes vineyard and winery tour at a nearby estate.

Wine Map

The campaign encouraged people to visit a vineyard. Plan your own vineyard tour with our Wine Map. Discover a new wine producer. We have boutique wineries, cozy cellar doors, big wedding venues, Michelin Star restaurants, picnics, art, craft workshops, hen dos, couples getaways, tastings, dog walks, coffees and…
