Hambledon Wine Estate

Hambledon Wine Estate is the oldest commercial vineyard in England, founded in 1952 when Major General Sir Guy Salisbury-Jones planted the first vineyards and began making still white wines. Today Hambledon comprises over 200 acres of estate vineyards planted to Chardonnay, Meunier and Pinot Noir. Our gravity fed winery was opened in July 2013 by, the then, HRH Duchess of Cornwall. Hambledon Wine Estate was acquired by Berry Bros. & Rudd and Symington Family Estates in December 2023. Today Hambledon is widely seen as one of the UK's leading sparkling wine producers. A new Visitor's Centre was completed in January 2025 and now houses a restaurant, private dinning and event spaces, bespoke teaching rooms (Hambledon is an Approved Programme Provider for the WSET courses), a shop, wrap around terrace overlooking the vines and a beautiful tasting room. Tours run all year round and there are one off events in the vineyard's stunning setting in the South Downs.
