Third edition of the conference takes place in the UK in May

Women in Wine Expo (WIWE) is returning for a third year, this time taking place in the UK.

WIWE is a global network female professionals across the world of wine, The Women in Wine Expo (WIWE) is a global network building a community of women who want to expand their knowledge as well as discuss topics of today and possibilities of tomorrow in a safe and neutral place.

The 2023 conference will take place over three days in London and in Kent from 10th – 12th May and focus on sparkling wines. Day 1 will start with a Meet & Greet evening in London, followed by a vineyard tour and a masterclass in Kent, and a conference day and tasting session in London. Being based in the UK provides the opportunity for international women to discover or re-discover wines made in Great Britain.

Speakers during the event will include Queena Wong from Curious Vines, Seyma Bas from Constellation Brands, Ritu Singhal from Fine Wine & Champagne India, Sally Evans from Château George 7, Ruma Singh – wine communicator, and Laura Riches from Laylo. They will respectively be talking about the wine trade’s challenges, diversity and inclusion in the wine industry, innovative wine tourism, alternative packaging and India as an emerging wine country. During the conference day in Kent, prominent men of UK’s wine industry are invited to join the women for a discussion: Simon Thorpe (WineGB), Ross Carter (The Drinks Trust) and Richard Balfour-Lynn (owner Balfour Winery) will take place in a panel about men’s role in changing the wine industry.

The Women in Wine Expo is the brainchild of journalist Senay Ozdemir. Senay describes Women in Wine Expo as “A unique platform and a in real life gathering for women from around the world in the wine industry, from East to West, to connect with their peers and discuss best practises in an educational and enriching environment.“
