Denbies Bacchus Half Marathon and 10k – one of the must-do events on the UK running calendar – returns on Sunday 8th September 2024.

In this fourteenth year of the event, most of the field is expected to once again turn out in fancy dress to run their preferred course.  Passing by bands and other musical entertainment, it is the drinks stations on route that separate Bacchus from other running races and epitomise the spirit of this event.

Set in a protected valley of south-facing slopes on the famous chalky soils of Surrey’s North Downs, Denbies Wine Estate comprises 265 acres of undulating vines and countryside.

This unspoilt destination is ideal for tasting and sampling English wine – the catch for those signed up to the Bacchus Half Marathon and 10k is that they will have to run for their wine.

Half-marathon runners can sample up to six award-winning English wines at five drinks stations along the course – complete with food and soft drinks to accompany them.  Runners participating in the 10k will visit two of the wine stations. There are celebratory rewards for all runners at the finish line, where more food, drink and music await.  The party then carries on long into the evening at the post-race hog roast, with non-running friends and supporters welcome to join in with the festivities.
