Martin & Clive Vickers

Vines were first planted at Halfpenny Green Wine Estate in 1983 & now Martin Vickers looks after the Vineyard with the help of his wife Tina. Clive, his son, looks after the winery & the running of the business with his wife Lisa. Clive & Lisa’s children, Imogen & Emily are the next generation…
What’s it like working together?
Martin: “We Have been working together now for 26 years, we have always been close friends which helps! We probably spend more time talking sport rather than winemaking!! He runs the business brilliantly, mostly rectifying and tidying up my entrepreneurial mistakes!!”
Clive: “Dad has been amazing to work with, and we are genuinely more like brothers. Although we take work seriously we have fun every day!”
What are you passing on to your children; was there anything you learnt from your father that you follow?
Martin: “Never give up!!”
Clive: “Definitely the hard work ethic, never ask anyone to do anything that you wouldn’t do yourself & treat people how you would like to be treated.”
