Trade Tasting 2023

WineGB Trade Tasting Exhibitor Criteria
The WineGB Trade tasting is open to all current producer members of WineGB. Details of each wine to be exhibited must be provided, and be in accordance with the following:
- All wines on show at the Tasting must have an appropriate verification of quality and that they are produced, and made, exclusively from grapes grown in England or Wales. At least one of the listed criteria is therefore required.
- All wines offered at the tasting need to be made in accordance with EU and UK legislation in force at the time of production.
- Other products (eg Vermouth) are permitted on exhibitor stands and will be listed in the tasting booklet – please see relevant criteria below.
Classic Method Sparkling Wines
Each wine must have one of:
- A PDO/PGI registration number OR
- A post-disgorging analysis certificate that meets the PDO or PGI minimum standards* OR
- An award (Trophy or Gold, Silver or Bronze medal) in at least one of the following competitions within the past 2 years (i.e. 2023 or 2022):
- WineGB Awards
- International Wine Challenge
- Decanter World Wine Awards
- International Wine and Spirit Competition
- Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships
- Global Masters (Drinks Business)
- Challenge Euposia (Bollicine del Mondo)
- WineGB Regional wine competition trophy or medal in the last 2 years (i.e.2023 or 2022)
Sparkling wines produced by other methods:
Each wine must have:
- An award (Trophy or Gold/Silver/Bronze medal) in at least one of the competitions, as set out above for Classic method Sparkling Wines, within the last 2 years (i.e. 2023 or 2022)WineGB Awards
Still Wines
Each wine must have one of:
- A PDO/PGI registration number OR
- A post-bottling analysis certificate and no fault tasting that meets the PDO or PGI minimum standards* OR
- An award (Trophy or Gold, Silver or Bronze medal) in at least one of the following competitions within the last 2 years (i.e. 2023 or 2022):
- WineGB Awards
- International Wine Challenge
- Decanter World Wine Awards
- International Wine & Spirit Competition
- Chardonnay du Monde
- Global Masters Challenge (Drinks Business)
- Natural wines – add in Award as per the sparkling wines by other methods.
- WineGB Regional wine competition trophy or medal in the last 2 years (i.e.2023 or 2022)
Other Products
- These can be shown provided the exhibiting producer is showing at least one regular still or sparkling wine
- Only UK grown grape-based products are permitted
* A copy or link to the post-bottling analysis and PDO/PGI application number, or certificate of no faults tasting, must be provided with the details of the wine to be exhibited at the Trade Tasting
