At All Angels Vineyard in Enborne, the tour starts outside. Most tasting begin with someone handing you a glass. At All Angels Vineyard, they begin with a walk through the estate.
Church Farm, Enborne is a few miles west of Newbury and well placed for visitors from across Berkshire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Hampshire and runs guided vineyard Tours and Tastings throughout the year. Every visit starts among the rows of vines before moving inside to the Tasting Barn.
“We grow our own grapes”, says Mark Darley, founder and owner of All Angels. “Nothing is bought in. So when we talk about provenance, we mean it literally as you’re standing and walking in it. Once you see where the wine comes from, what’s in the glass means more”.
A Vineyard in Every Season
We run guided tours throughout the year, hosted by our team at Church Farm. Every visit begins in the vineyard, whatever the season, because a vineyard in spring, when the vines are dormant tells a different story to the one in September, when the grapes are approaching their harvest.
From the vineyard, guests move to our Tasting Barn for a guided tasting of the All Angels range. Sparkling wines made using the traditional method, with extended lees ageing giving them a complexity and depth that is characteristic of All Angels sparkling wines. We talk about how the wines are made, what different grapes are in the blend and why it is important never to rush the process.
For those who want to learn more, our food and wine pairing sessions pair the range with carefully chosen accompaniments. A sparkling wine can below at the table, not just for celebrations.
