Industry Data and Statistics
As grape growing and wine production increases in Great Britain it is vitally important to understand the data behind that growth, both in terms of hectarage, production and sales. WineGB produces annual reports to track the industry’s growth and development.
WineGB recognises that our industry has a shared responsibility to minimise our impact on the environment and maximise our contribution to environmental conservation and biodiversity.
WineGB’s Coronation Pledges
Looking to our future: pledges to safeguard our environment
To celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III on 6 May 2023 and his lifelong commitment to the environment, WineGB invited producers and supporters to make a pledge for an act or campaign that they will undertake or launch in 2023 to show commitment to the environment and long-term custodianship of the places in which they are active.
England and Wales are now internationally recognised as producers of top quality wine, regularly winning prestigious international awards. Our cool climate is ideally suited for growing grapes to make world-class sparkling wines and impressive still white, rosé and red wines. Find out more about the wine styles we produce.
There are almost 950 vineyards in Great Britain. With over 200 open to visitors, offering a wide range of facilities, there are plenty to explore. Visit the WineGB Producer Directory to find out more.
